Balikbayan Catch-Up + Ramen Taste Test from a Japan-Trained Chef | Tito D Vlog
We’ve got balikbayans in town! 🎉 From the US, we have Nino and Caye, and then there’s Carlo—technically not a balikbayan, but fresh off his cooking studies in Japan. May isa pa akong balikbayan na kakarating lang (soon sa vlog!), and I believe even Kuya Marlon is around.

From the US, we have Nino and Caye, and then there’s Carlo—technically not a balikbayan, but fresh off his cooking studies in Japan. May isa pa akong balikbayan na kakarating lang (soon sa vlog!), and I believe even Kuya Marlon is around. One night, we decided to go out in Ortigas. But unlike the wild nights of our youth, medyo chill na kami ngayon. 😅
I had 5 bottles of San Mig Light, pero ramdam ko na ang tama by bottle #2. I’ve always been a beer guy—hard liquor is a no-go for me!
The next day, despite a bit of a hangover, we headed to QC for a special ramen taste test by Carlo. He let us try the recipe he mastered while studying in Japan. His ramen follows current trends in authentic Japanese ramen-making—and it was next level!
I only included a short clip of the ramen session here because I’ll be making a dedicated video soon. Carlo’s cooking is more than just food—it’s his passion project. Aside from ramen, he also makes amazing pasta and tacos. The guy’s got serious skills!
📅 Ramen Taste Test Part 2 is happening in July—can’t wait for that one!
